RR (blood pressure) Holter testing can be performed at our facilities. The Blood Pressure Holter test is a modern, automatic, 24-hour method of measuring blood pressure. It involves attaching a 24-hour blood pressure recording kit to the patient. The kit consists of a recorder and a cuff. The recorder controls the pumping of the cuff and records the measurement results. The recording time is usually 24 hours. During this time, the device takes about 70 pressure measurements. Typically, measurements are taken every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour at night. The device is also equipped with a button that allows the pressure to be measured at the patient's request, e.g. when there is an ailment. After 24 hours, the recorder is removed and connected to a computer, the results obtained are analyzed with the appropriate software, and then printed and given to the patient for further consultation.

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the daily blood pressure test is to assess the patient's blood pressure during daily activity, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and eliminate the phenomenon of so-called "white coat hypertension," i.e., elevated blood pressure occurring only during a doctor's visit.

The test involves recording blood pressure throughout the day: as a rule, measurements are taken every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night. Throughout the test, the patient wears a blood pressure measuring device on a belt and a cuff worn on the arm.

The result is available for registration after 3 working days from the date of removal of the recorder.

The test is performed for patients 12 years of age and older.

For patients aged 12 - 18 years, the patient must have a referral from a pediatrician, pediatric cardiologist or other specialist for a Holter RR test.

For adults, a referral is not required.

It is necessary to come to the examination with an identity card, as the condition for the installation of the holter is the signing of a rental agreement for the device. If the test is performed on minors, the ID card is presented by the patient's parent/legal guardian.

Preparation for the study

On the day of the test, take all medications taken on a regular basis.
The device must not be wet or removed from its case.
Loose-fitting clothing is recommended; the camera can be clipped to the waistband of the pants or worn on a belt hung around the neck.
Patients taking anticoagulants may develop skin petechiae in the arm area.
