Electrotherapy (currents)
Direct current and low and medium frequency pulsed currents are used for treatment.
-
Tens current
is used to relieve pain of various origins: chronic muscle pain, neuralgia, degenerative joint changes, spinal pain syndromes, post-traumatic pain, post-surgical pain, phantom pain after amputations, migraine pain, root pain, menstrual pain. -
Trabert current
has an analgesic effect, reduces muscle tension, and improves circulation. -
Kotz current
is mainly used for motor stimulation. Such a current can induce rapid and significant strength gains in the stimulated muscle. -
Interferential currents
have analgesic effects, stimulate contraction of skeletal muscles, reduce tension on sympathetic nerves, improve circulation and tissue nutrition. -
Galvanization
is used in the treatment of neuralgia, chronic nerve inflammation, peripheral circulation disorders, obstructed bone adhesions, and pain syndromes of degenerative spine disease. -
Iontophoresis
involves the introduction of a drug through the skin into deeper tissues by the force of an electric field. It is recommended as an analgesic treatment for osteoarthritis, RA, AS, psoriatic arthritis, gout, after injuries to soft tissues and the osteoarticular system, osteoporosis, and overload syndromes.
