ECG Holter

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the test is to evaluate cardiac arrhythmias and ischemia throughout the day, during sleep, exercise, physical work. The Holter test is of great importance in accurately assessing the type and severity of irregularity and facilitates antiarrhythmic treatment. It is also useful in determining the degree of myocardial ischemia throughout the day.

The patient is fitted with a special apparatus weighing about 0.5 kg which is worn on a belt, the recording medium is a magnetic card or cassette tape. The recording is read out after 24 hours. The test involves recording an electrocardiogram from five electrodes attached to the skin on the chest.

The result of the test is available for collection 7 days after the removal of the camera.

The test is performed for patients aged 2 years and older.

Preparation for the study

The test does not require special preparation. There are no contraindications to the test, occasionally skin diseases that prevent the sticking of electrodes may be a contraindication.
