Influenza
The flu vaccine is available during the flu season, i.e. from September this year to March of the following year.
- The influenza virus is spread through the droplet route (when sneezing, coughing or even talking to a sick person) or through contact with objects (e.g. doorknobs, handrails) contaminated with contaminated respiratory secretions
- The source of infection is a sick person
- Dangerous are the complications of this disease, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, circulatory failure, myocarditis and pericarditis, meningitis, which often end in death
- Influenza, unlike other viral diseases, does not leave lasting immunity (this means that the flu vaccine only works for one season)
- Vaccines are safe and well tolerated by the body
