Purpose of the study
The test allows assessment of the size, shape, position and structure of the thyroid gland. Thyroid ultrasound is not only a diagnostic test, but is also used to monitor treatment. Indications for the examination are abnormalities in laboratory tests, thyroid diseases.
Preparation for the study
It is recommended to provide the doctor with descriptions of previous examinations. The test is performed on patients of all ages, is painless, and can be repeated many times without exposing the patient to harmful radiation.
