Determination of the avidity index complements the information about the determined anti-toxoplasma IgG and IgM antibodies. After the initial detection of anti-toxoplasma IgG and IgM antibodies, determination of the avidity index allows to exclude current infection of less than 4 months.

The serum can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, then it must be frozen.
