The patient does not need to be fasting
The test material is blood.

Significance of the study:
PTH is synthesized in epithelial cells. Its secretion depends on the concentration of ionized calcium in the blood flowing through the parathyroid glands.
Indications for the test are impaired metabolism of calcium, phosphate; urolithiasis, renal failure, impaired absorption syndrome.

Preparation and preparation of material:
The test material is blood drawn on EDTA ( plasma).
Stability in blood drawn on EDTA 2-3 days and at -20 up to 4 m-c.
